If you have been refused credit, or if you have credit that has had the terms changed, for example, credit limit reduced, you are entitled to a free credit report by law (in the U.S.) The institution rejecting, or changing you will send you a letter telling you how to go about it. Other services offering free credit reports tie it to you enrolling in one of their paid for credit monitoring services.
